How It Works

How it works

One upload. Four fixes. A file that just engraves.

ReliefForge runs the same prep an experienced operator does by hand — automatically, the same way every time.

// pipeline
01 · WELD

Mesh made watertight

MakerWorld STLs arrive as millions of unconnected triangles. ReliefForge welds them into one solid — the fix that stops slicers from crashing — with zero loss of detail.

02 · TRIM

Base cut to true depth

Files ship padded with duplicate base layers that inflate the thickness. We flatten the dead base so your software shows your real engraving depth.

03 · ALIGN

Alignment ring added

A single ring on layer 000 lets you trace and center the piece on the blank — then disable that one layer and cut.

04 · FILL

Fill ring added

A ring on every layer flips the fill logic so the subject engraves raised, not reversed — exactly as the artwork intends.

// settings that matter
SettingWhat it does
Artwork sizeThe size of your design in millimeters. Border is added around it.
Border widthAdds a rim around the artwork. 26mm art + 1mm border = 28mm finished.
Trim baseHow much dead base to remove so thickness reads true.
Slice sizeMust match your engraving software’s slice — keeps the alignment ring on layer 000 only.

See it on your own file.
